We do have our share of "village idiots", and they certainly do come out on this day to hear themselves talk!

Best comment I heard on tv was from the Budget Comm Chair who mentioned how the same people not wanting to spend $14K for weed control on sidewalks were the same one's who complain the town doesn't do any maintenance on things!!! Isn't that the truth.

@Patrick, i'd like to know, do you ever use our sidewalks and know first hand of the terrible shape they are in, or is it strictly spending money you are against ?

Thanks for the great coverage Jake. Unfortunately, I was out of town all week for a family emergency, so I missed the excitement.

And you are one of the one's who attacked town officials about preventive maintenance! Kill weeds like they said and get more life out of the sidewalks, makes sense to me.

The town has Ball fields that require work and kids need Equipment a lot more then killing weeds .If you enjoy killing weeds try your hand at the coke factory on rt 28 ,

Jimmy,,,,when was the last time you visited any of these fields ? Our kids are fine with equipment. The point of the weed killing is that our streets and sidewalks look like crap and we need to improve on that.

And as far as all these "struggling people" here in town, get out once and a while and you will see that you can't get into the Tuscan Kitchen on a SAT night without an hour wait, Maddies breakfast place has a wait as well in the AM for breakfast, and Market Basket tonight at 6pm was packed with Salem shoppers.

Getting tired of hearing we need to make all these cuts and live on a tight budget because people are so down and out. I'm not seeing it, all i'm seeing is Salem falling down around us because of a bunch of "cheap sakes".

When you see REP Bob Elliot this week, make sure you compliment him his tan that he got playing golf in Florida all last week!

Peter ,(At the last delibrate session and final one ) You may have noticed a few folks get up to the microphone and ask for help in sports , One man stated he traveled all over with the Salem base ball team and Salem is far behind on equipment and playing field matinaince and construction , So i dont need to be at the ball park just to watch folks ask for help do i ,and then have to listen to a few talk about weeds at cost of 14 K the kids should be first not weeds if you think weeds is your issue look at the Old Salem coke Plant on rt 28 or the old granate state chip factory niow you look at your weeds , have fun

The cry babys shot them self in the foot ,While adding more roads to the road program $$$$ ..Now there shouting and crying is over .The Second Delibrate Session is history .Time to let the voters in Salem deside our tax rate, Rather then a few bone heads that cry for more more more of our tax money at 9am on a saturday when working folks are sleeping .
