Salem's Tuscan Kitchen saw its Food Network episode of "Chef Wanted With Anne Burrell" premiere on Thursday, and with it the announcement of a new executive chef for the Italian restaurant.
Anthony De Palma was chosen from a field of four candidates found by Burrell.
According to the Food Network Dish blog, De Palma is originally from West Palm Beach, Fla., where he owned a successful restaurant before the economy tanked and he lost the business in 2008.
"This job interview was the perfect opportunity to turn his life around," reads the blog.
De Palma also sang the praises of Tuscan Kitchen Owner Joe Faro, his new colleague and boss:
"The opportunity to work with a gentleman like Joe Faro is probably as exciting and as nerve-wracking as it was to work with Chef Anne Burrell," De Palma said in a video feature following his competition victory. "He's a fascinating gentleman, wealth of knowledge, and his drive is outrageous and his passion – just brings everything back to home."
The episode, titled "Italian Empire," will air again on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. We have also attached a sneak peak of the episode above, courtesy of a YouTube video posted by the Food Network.
