Hoping to Point Out Deficiencies, District to Host School Tours

The tours will take place in March.

 

The Salem School District announced today that tours will be conducted of all six elementary schools in town in order to give residents the opportunity to see the renovated facilities as they compare to those seeking improvements.

"Tour guides will able to share key facility features as well as the apparent deficiencies in the schools planned for renovation through the District's Phase 2 renovation effors," the district said in a statement.

The deficiencies that are highlighted in the district's Phase II renovation plans will specifically be pointed out.

"Goals for the District's facilities master plan include improved infrastructure, appropriate space for student academic and related service spacs and enhanced school safety and security," the statement continues. "The tours will provide an opportunity for a first-hand look at existing elementary facilities and inequities that exist across the school district.

Fisk Thursday, March 9 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Haigh  Tuesday, March 5 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Lancaster Tuesday, March 5 and Friday, March 8 March 5: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., March 8: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
North Salem Wednesday, March 6 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Soule Wednesday, March 6 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Go visit the elderly resident who is deciding between heat and eating! Go explain to someone who survived wars, depression, raising a family on one income and the barrage of health issues how we have to have a new building.
I know I have heard it before, tell them to move!
