Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani continued hammering Vice President Joe Biden at an appearance at Salem's Tuscan Kitchen Wednesday, calling the vice president "dumb."
Giuliani referenced comments made by Biden in Virginia Tuesday, in which he told a crowd Mitt Romney wanted to "put them back in chains" by deregulating Wall Street. Giuliani subsequently appeared on CNBC and criticized Biden for the comments.
Giuliani continued this today and began after his phone rang while he was giving a keynote speech at a fundraiser for N.H. gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith. Giuliani joked it must have been Biden calling.
"It's probably because it's a wrong number, because he does not know how to dial the right number," the former mayor said to laughter in the room.
Giuliani explained his response to the comments on CNBC, in which he was asked why he thought Biden would say something like that.
"I gave the only response I ever give, which is an absolutely honest one," Giuliani said. "Here's why Joe Biden did it. Because Joe Biden is dumb."
Giuliani went on to say everyone Biden served with in the Senate and everyone in the Washington press corps also knows Biden is "dumb."
"I'd love to have an IQ test between (former Vice President) Dan Quayle and Joe Biden," Giuliani said. "I guarantee you Dan Quayle might double (Biden)."

Why the attacks Mayor? Calling someone dumb is just not a nice thing to say and really shows no respect. Typical of the Republicans to be on the attack with nasty remarks saying that President Barack Obama's campaign is driven by "division and attack and hatred" . To clarify what Vice President said was Romney would seek to "unchain Wall Street" and "put y'all back in chains" by loosening Wall Street regulations. No hate in that remark...only what would happen if Romney was President! You talk hate listen to some of the ads Romney's campaign ads.

I agree with you, Jane. The Republicans are very thin skinned. But maybe that is because they have so many things to answer for. I admire Joe Biden. He is the only one who has the courage to tell it like it is. We will be "in chains" if Romney wins and we end up paying more taxes and the 1% get to pay less! Someone should ask the Romney campaign why the computers from his administration in MA were cleaned out and removed. Was it proof that his so called "surplus" didn't exist?

I see that ever the Mensa member, Giuliani guarantees that "Dan Quayle might double" Vice President Biden in an IQ test. Interestingly, I can guarantee that Qualyle might not double Biden in a IQ test. I guess we're just a couple of geniuses.
