I am confused on Article 6 on the town ballot. Also, what happens with all the people who didn't get to vote because of the lack of ballots. Isn't there like some laws that govern elections?

+1 How does 2,668 YES votes trump 1,316 NO votes?

Jake:
I have the print out on the votes from Town Clerk Susan Wall and Article 6 was Yes 2668 and No 3272. It looks like it failed.

Heard today that others in town expect that a Saturday vote has been scheduled so that a small ( 121 people ) last year might come back Saturday and change what over six thousand voted for on Tuesday
I think that I miss understand as it does not make sense to me?
Is anyone able to clarify?

Rod,
At the second deliberative, SB2 cannot be changed, it is ours for life. The trash article could be resurrected but that is highly unlikely. The article of concern is the road article and YES people will arrive prepared to add their roads onto that article and thus create the same large tax increase we experienced last year after Mr. Whittaker (Woodbury teacher) proposed and passed the amendment to increase taxes by 16%, thank you Mr. Whittaker.

Rod the vote on going to SB2 that was held yesterday will not go into effect until next year. So this Saturday's Town Metting meeting is part of this years budget process and will be the last Town Meeting which most people refer to the 2d delibertive session. Next year we'll have the Towns Delibertive Sesson (the 1st meeting) in Jan or early Feb. and then vote in March that's it.

Jake, maybe you could add Stephen as an assistant editor to Patch ? He obviously has the interest and time to be on top of all these little things.

Good Lord Wendy..you are a snarky one, huh. He just gave some stats. And he is on the BOS, so I would think he should be qualified to do that. I don't know him personally...and I am pretty new to town...but you come across as a very nasty individual.

Let's try to stay on topic here and keep the personal sniping to a minimum. I appreciate anyone who points out an error I may have made in any post and encourage people to speak up when they see something I may have missed. It will help me do my job better.

Ms James
In one instance you fault people who do not involve themselves in the town business, and then fault someone who is involved. Mr Campbell works very hard for the town and has devoted several years to service. The budgets you see presented were guided by his involvement and comments over the last two decades.
It is not wise to chastise someone for being actively involved in the town especially if your personal involvement is only limited to posting anonymously in Patch, that is not enough involvement to be considered worthy of comparison.
Keep up the good work Mr. Campbell and all others who take time away from their families and personal pursuits to devote hours to our town residents.

Karissa, most of us have gotten used to this treatment from Wendy, so it is refreshing to hear a new poster pointing this out.
