First Annual 'Fox Trot' Ride Next Weekend

Salem Police Benevolent Association honors late Det. James Fox.

The Salem Police Benevolent Association will host the first annual Fox Trot Memorial Charity Motorcycle Ride on Aug. 13 in honor of late Salem Det. James Fox.

According to the ride's website, foxtrot121.com, Fox spent the last six years with Salem Police before losing a fight with lung cancer on March 16.

The ride will be 88 miles along the Seacoast to be followed by a cookout at the Derry/Salem Elks Club at 39 Shadow Lake Road in Salem. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society, Dollars for Scholars and the Salem Rams football program.

Sgt. Robert Morin said people can register for the ride on the website or between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. the day of the ride at the starting point, Park Place Lanes, 16 Rockingham Road in Windham.

Registration fee for riders is $25 and $10 for passengers. Payment includes a free Fox Trot Motorcycle Ride T-shirt & admission to the BBQ following the ride.
