Barretts to Hold Lemonade Stand For Haigh Again

Cheyenne Barrett's effort to replace burned playground continues Saturday.

is again hoping folks donate this weekend through the power of lemonade.

The Barrett family, sparked by daughter Cheyenne, 7, a 2nd grade student at Haigh, opened up a lemonade stand the past Monday where they collected $273 in front of their 85 School St. home.

On Saturday, they will be selling lemonade once again at that location from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to Cheyenne's mom, Rachel, she'll have other family members as well as local families from the Haigh community assisting them.

. Although school officials anticipate it will be replaced, it's not likely insurance would cover the entire cost of replacement.

Once she heard about the fire, Cheyenne Barrett came up with the idea to do a lemonade stand in front of her house to raise money to replace it.

Even though she was only selling the lemonade for 50 cents a cup, Cheyenne raised nearly $300 Monday, with folks giving a little bit more than what the lemonade cost.

Rachel Barrett said one individual donated $100.
