LETTER: Defend Fun! Defeat HB 0336!

Dear Senator Morse,

I was disappointed to learn that you have sponsored legislation to prohibit the sale of certain fireworks (HB 0336).

You are Republican who was elected to reduce market regulation and defend free market capitalism. Why in God's name are you trying to legislate the way American patriots celebrate Independence Day?

Furthermore, you are the senator of a state border district and there are a relatively high number of Mom-and-Pop fireworks shop owners among your constituents.

Please preserve the New Hampshire Advantage and consider their interests as this legislative session goes on.

Unfortunately it is difficult for responsible individuals with full-time jobs such as myself to to drive up to Concord during the middle of a weekday demand you do your job.

For those of you who can make it to the statehouse to testify against Senator Morse's proposed regulation, the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee is meeting Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Legislative Office Building (LOB) Room 204.

Go out in a bang,

Shem Kellogg, Plaistow

How many times a week do we have to take time off from work in order to make sure our elected agents don't work against our interests? The next legislator that submits a bill that either reduces or eliminates the rights we currently enjoy, should be recalled and impeached.

What he should be doing is introducing a bill that prohibits cities and towns from regulating the use of fireworks. It really bothers me that all it takes is a small group of retired seniors or idiots who moved up from Massachusetts to convince a town to ban fireworks.

If someone wants to blow their finger off, let them. If they burn your barn down because they are negligent, you take possession of their house. Why do we need laws to prevent responsible people from having fun due to a few idiots?

Super letter - many thanks for your persuit of freedom. I testified in favor of HB144 this week in Concord. Rep. Dan Itse also testified and told the Committee that Article 1 Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution says: "No State shall enter into anyTreaty, Alliance or...." Does Nashua's Alliance with the United Nations I.C.L.E.I. violate the Constitution?
